About Yaa Konadu

Yvette Yaa Konadu Tetteh is a British-Ghanaian creative and business owner living in Accra. Growing up across cultures and continents, she is insatiably curious about identity, identity-making, and selfhood.

In her capacity as co-founder and CEO of the Pure and Just Food Company, she uses climate-smart agribusiness to catalyse African potential–creating economic opportunities for Africans to pursue self-determination. She has raised over $750k in personal and business awards and grants, and, from over 3000 applications, was selected in the Top 12 for the GoGettaz Agripreneur prize in 2022. She is a Top 5 Cartier Women’s Initiative 2023 finalist.

As winner of the inaugural Kofi Addo Writivism prize for non-fiction by African writers, her writing was published in the anthology, “Sundown and Other Stories.” Her essay “In This Body” was published in Lolwe’s fourth edition (2021).

In 2023 Yaa Konadu swam 450km of the Volta River in Ghana, raising awareness about textile pollution and documenting living culture along Ghana’s most important water body.
